Long-Term Roadmap

The big pushes we're building toward, tracked here as they move - not just announced once they land. For everything already live, see Patch Notes.

Every initiative below moves through the same four stages: Concept → In Development → Testing → Live.

Crafting Overhaul

In Development
Concept In Development Testing Live

We're running one of the newest ServUO builds available, which opens the door to a huge amount of content that most shards never touch. The goal: bring nearly everything droppable, decorative, or reward-granting into the crafting system itself, so making things is as rewarding as finding them - across early, mid, and late game alike.

Storage Shelves

Craftable display & storage furniture for your house.

Auto-Mixing Table

A dedicated station that streamlines combining reagents and materials.

Craft Table

A central new workbench tying the expanded system together.

This is a massive undertaking by design - expect it to land in waves rather than all at once, with updates posted here and in Patch Notes as pieces go live.

NPC Battle Arena

Concept
Concept In Development Testing Live

A new PvP-adjacent mode where up to four players each command their own squad of upgradable NPCs, directing them with simple commands instead of controlling them directly - build your squad, then out-think the other commanders on the field.

Commands

Attack Guard Move Here Defend This

Starting Roster

Knight

Frontline

Crossbowman

Ranged

Mage

Spellcaster

Peasant

Cheap & expendable

Healer

Sustain

Tamer is planned as a mid-fight deployable rather than part of the opening lineup - brought in during a battle with a single pet at its side, scaling from a cheap early pull (Wolf) up to a real late-fight threat (Drake).

Squads will be upgradable over time, with tiered Generals granting boosts to the units serving under them. Still early - roster and mechanics are being locked in before any of this hits a test build.

House Crew

Concept
Concept In Development Testing Live

Crew slots for your house, the same way ships already have them. Assign NPC crew and they'll defend the property when it comes under attack - a house stops being purely passive storage.

Defends Against Raids

Assigned crew automatically fight back against monsters attacking the house.

Reduced Damage vs. Players

Crew will also engage attacking players, but with damage intentionally scaled down - a deterrent, not a PvP weapon.

Very early - exact crew slot counts and how much player-facing damage gets reduced are still being worked out.

Summoner Class

In Development
Concept In Development Testing Live

Four distinct archetypes, not one generic summon spell. Necromancer, Elementalist, Demonologist, and Beastcaller each grow their own 5-tier creature ladder, gated by a real skill pair you're already training - "Summoning" isn't an actual Ultima Online skill, so instead of inventing one, each archetype leans on two skills that already exist. This is a large system, on par with the Crafting Overhaul in scope, landing one archetype at a time.

Necromancer - live now

Two spells: Raise Undead (a single permanent pick, Skeleton up through a 3,000 HP Bone Dragon) and Undead Army (a temporary, zero-slot-cost swarm sized 5 up to 20 by your Summoner Grimoire level). The Summoner Grimoire reuses the same kill-XP leveling the Weapon/Magic Grimoires already run on, boosting every minion's HP, damage, and resistance as it levels. See Patch Notes for the full writeup.

Elementalist - live now

The second archetype, cast from its own Elemental Tome: Bind Elemental (a single permanent pick, Earth up through a 3,000 HP Valorite Elemental) and Elemental Storm (a temporary, zero-slot-cost burst sized by your Summoner Grimoire level, same as Undead Army). Shares the Summoner Grimoire's leveling with Necromancer rather than running its own separate track.

Archetypes

Necromancer

Necromancy + Spirit Speak

Skeletons → Zombies → Wraiths → Liches → Bone Dragons

Elementalist

Magery + Eval Int

Earth → Fire → Water → Air → Greater Elementals

Demonologist

Necromancy + Magery

Imps → Gargoyles → Daemons → Greater Daemons → Abyssal

Beastcaller

Animal Taming + Animal Lore

Wolves → Bears → Giant Serpents → Drakes → Dragons

Summon Tiers

Tier Skill Example Summons
I30Rat, Snake, Skeleton
II50Wolf, Giant Spider, Orc
III70Earth Elemental, Fire Elemental, Gargoyle
IV90Daemon, Drake, Lich
V100Greater Daemon, Dragon, Ancient Elemental
VI110+Custom Legendary Summons - 120 unlocks the strongest class-specific summon rather than just bigger numbers

Persistent & Non-Dispellable

Your summon stays with you like a tamed pet, not a temporary battle cast.

Shared Control Slots

Summons draw from the same follower pool as tamed pets, so a hybrid can't stack two full armies for free.

Grimoire-Style Progression

Kill-XP leveling unlocks named abilities: Soul Link, Empower Summon, Sacrifice, Manifest, Convergence, Recall Minions, Soul Harvest, Summoner's Bond.

Expect this to land in pieces given the scope - updates posted here as major pieces take shape.
